A 36-year-old farmer from Cape Coast is investing his GHC20,000 win from the Telecel M’ahitti Promo into his farm, turning an unexpected prize into an opportunity to improve his livelihood. Christian Yao Akussah, who has been a Telecel customer for about five years, said he had never participated in a promo and decided to try this one because there was no opt in cost.  

He said he was surprised when Telecel informed him of the win, as he had simply been using his number as usual. “Even when they called to tell me I had won, I didn’t believe it,” describing the experience as “mind blowing”.

The Telecel M’ahitti Promo has so far awarded a total of 4,722 winners including a one million prize winner in Yeji earlier in September. Presenting the GHC20,000.00 cash to Christian through his Telecel Cash wallet, the Executive Head of Western and Central Regions, Samuel Gbadago said, “Since we launched the Telecel M’ahitti promo, we have awarded 4 weekly winners from the Western and Central Regions and many more winners across the country. Christian’s win is very exciting for us because he is investing his win into his farm. As we are expecting the next One Million winner at the end of September, I am asking my Western and Central subscribers to opt into the Telecel M’ahitti promo by dialing *500# and continue using their Telecel number. Who knows the winner might just come from any of these regions.”

According to Christian, the win came at an important time. “I needed funds to invest in my farm, and this prize has helped me do just that. I’m grateful to Telecel,” he said excitedly. He is now actively encouraging friends and family to participate. “I can confidently tell people that this promo is real. I have won GHC20,000, so I know it is not a scam.”  

The Telecel M’ahitti promo, which has been running for six weeks, rewards 100 customers with GHC100 daily and up to six customers with GHC20,000 weekly. A second lucky Telecel subscriber will be walking away with one million cedis at the end of September and a third one million cedis winner at the end of October.

Customers can participate at no cost by opting in via the Telecel Play app or by dialing *500#. The promotion is regulated by the National Lottery Authority (NLA) under the Caritas platform.
